Modality Descriptions
The subtle types of therapies I offer are safe, gentle and non-invasive. It is not massage nor is it based on any religious beliefs or suggestions. For all of these therapies, wear loose comfortable clothing.
They are all wonderful stand alone therapies and some can be combined to help you achieve specific results. They can also be used in many situations where massage would not be appropriate such as open wounds, infectious illnesses and cancer. It is also very useful for depression and exhaustion.
It is believed that when a person's subtle and energetic systems are strong and free flowing, the body and mind are in a positive state of health. When the systems become weak or blocked, it can lead to physical or emotional symptoms of imbalance and dis-ease. CranioSacral Therapy Chronic headaches, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia and central nervous system disorders are prime candidates for this gentle therapy. Using a light touch I monitor the rhythm of the cranial sacral system to detect restrictions and imbalances, then release the problem areas and relieve undue pressure on the brain and spinal cord.
High Touch® Jin Shin Jyutsu Using light touch, my fingertips are held on pairs of points to stimulate and balance your body's meridian system, much like placing a jumper cable on a weak battery. We open the pathways, allowing the energy to flow freely once again, so that your body can regenerate and restore. Quantum Touch® A profoundly effective and subtle form of hands-on healing. I create a high-energy field between my hands, directing the energy into the area to be healed. Your innate body intelligence will do whatever your body deems useful to cause healing or alignments to occur. Reflexology I send intentional messages to the nervous system through the feet when you are stressed, injured, or overworked. As a result, reflexology encourages "internal relaxation" to your body systems - something that no other modality can do. While massage works with and massages the structure muscles of the body, a reflexologist works with the systems of the body. As the body's waste crystals are broken from the nerve endings (there are over 7,000 nerve endings in our feet), relaxation occurs, toxins are ridded, circulation is increased and nerve blockages are diminished to internal body functions.
EMF Balancing Technique® This is primarily hands-off energy work, as much of the clearing and balancing is done in your electro-magnetic field around your body. This is a powerful tool for transformation.
Movement Re-education Bodywork Pain, stiffness or movement limitations are often the result of trauma, stress, movement habits, injury, illnesses, stuffed emotions, fears or self-imposed limitations. This type of bodywork utilizes gentle rocking and stretching movements to encourage the release of these patterns, enabling you to regain your mobility and flexibility in a painless way. Deeply Realxing! LaStone® Therapy Tension melts away as the hot basalt stones encourage relaxation and circulation. The cold marble stones decreases inflammation and help break the pain cycle. Together, this "vascular gymnastics" of the circulatory system assists the body in its healing process. Aromatherapy Medicinal quality essential oils are used to calm, balance and rejuvenate the individual. When applied topically, they are absorbed through the skin and are transported through the body via the circulatory system. It is at the cell level that they can affect the physical body. When inhaled, the molecules affect the limbic system, via the olfactory nerve receptors. The limbic system is the core of emotion and memory, among other things. The connection between our emotional health and physical health is well known.
